Meet  Kristina

Hi friend! I’m Kristina…

I live in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia about 3 miles from the North Carolina border. “Home” hasn’t always been a word I used growing up due to moving frequently in a military family, but I’m so grateful to have landed here in my teens and to now call these old mountains my home. Photography wasn’t something I necessarily set out to do or be, as like most people at a young age, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I picked up a camera in high school and quickly enjoyed snapping pictures of my friends and joined the yearbook my junior and senior year. I enjoyed the process of designing the yearbook and thought I wanted to be a graphic designer, but didn’t end up pursuing that route and instead went to the local community college trying to figure out what the hell I wanted to do with my life. I then transferred and earned my bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Early Childhood Education/Special Education and worked in school systems and/or with children for 10 years during and after college. However, during college I continued taking pictures of nature, close friends and family and my senior year I started charging people (which was still basically free because I didn’t know anything about running a business lol) and would then put all that money back into equipment and dug deep into educating myself with trial and error, other well-known photographers that gave out freebies and of course — the internet. In 2015 I officially started my little business and have been paying the IRS every year since then lol In my free-time I love traveling to visit national parks — I’ve been to 30/63 so far! I also love hiking, thrifting, antiquing and completing various projects around my house.

I love photography because it’s the only medium that allows you to freeze time. How cool is that? Fleeting moments that will always be remembered when you look at the pictures on your wall or when you pull out your photo album. Since childhood, I’ve been an observer; taking in the interactions, events, and environment around me. So it makes sense that I leaned into photography so much— it feels like it’s always been a part of me. I am very honored that so many people trust me to observe and document these big and small moments of their lives to preserve for generations to come.

Let’s create something Unforgettable together

I’m basically your personal Joey Tribbiani - a one person fan club that will constantly be cheering you on and making you feel awesome! But in all seriousness, I’m here for you. Through outfit choices, wedding planning and all those in between questions along the way. I want to document you authentically; I want you laugh, run, hug, cuddle and just be yourself!

I strive in making my clients (aka friends!) feel comfortable by being the most professional-unprofessional as I like to call it. I’m laid back and adaptable, but can take charge when necessary (wedding family portraits ya feel me?) Just relax and be yourself and I’ll take care of the rest.
